How to Get Started

Thanks for all the positive response so far!

Some of you want to know how to be a part of FU3L. First off, let me know! Write a comment on this blog or send an email to FU3LedLife [at] gmail.com (address is not linked to minimize spam). You can follow the Twitter Feed (@FU3Led) and you can follow the blog. I have the Twitter updates on the right sidebar of the blog as well so you don't have to do both.

Next, join the online conversation! Comment on the blog or email with ideas of how to apply this viewpoint in your life. I'd love to have guest bloggers and for this to truly be used as a community dialogue - not only my ramblings.

Most importantly, have real-life conversations with your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors... really, anyone who will talk to you! See what they think about food, fitness, and faith. It is my hope that this can be used as part of a larger way to engage with people in their daily life.

Why the backwards E?

In this world of buzz words and marketing gimmicks, it would be easy to dismiss the 3 in FU3L as another ploy to be "relevant." As I was thinking of what to call this, I wanted something simple but able to capture the fullness of the idea. The 3 in the name is a reminder that FU3L has three components: Food, Fitness, and Faith. And yes, I realize the alliteration sounds contrived as well but in truth it came to me at once and without manipulation. I find the flow helps in the concept. Without further ado, here it is laid out:

Food. Conscientious choices are made to eat foods that are organic, local, minimally processed, and without man-made additives. This is FU3L because it rejects toxins from entering God’s sacrifice and optimizes performance. Additionally, it shows stewardship of the earth He created for us.

Fitness. A deliberate effort is made to improve the body’s function through physical and mental exercise. This is FU3L because it displays God’s glory as the Creator and maintains your body in peak shape to be used however God desires.

Faith. Intimacy with God is intentionally increased through prayer and reading of God’s Word. This is FU3L because it connects us with our purpose and motivates our lives.

I hope if this resonates with you, this blog will be a useful resource.
